Throat Threads to Expand Hudson’s Jeans in Canada
Differential Brands Group Inc. has tapped Throat Threads Apparel to help it expand its reach in the Canadian market.
The New York-based global consumer brands company, which also owns Robert Graham and Swims, acquired Hudson Jeans as part of its purchase of Joe’s Jeans in 2015. Hudson had been part of the Joe’s Jeans family since 2013. Since the acquisition by Differential, Hudson’s has named a new president as well as a new creative director, Zihaad Wells, and has been working to increase its visibility.
Russ Fearon, chief executive officer of Throat Threads, said that although Hudson’s has been offered in the Canadian market, the new ownership and direction of the label is expected to further advance its standing in the country.
“They’re going back to their roots, adding sportswear,” he said. “We think it’ll do very well in Canada.” The line is 80 percent women’s, 20 percent men’s, he said.
“We are very excited to be a part of the rebirth of Hudson Jeans. They will continue to push boundaries with their product style and customers’ expectations. By combining our customer service infrastructure, replenishment programs and expertise with Hudson’s progressive product mix, Hudson Jeans will be a brand to watch for 2018,” said
